HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Electric Power Supply was organized in 1969 on the basis of the Department of Electrification of Agriculture, the head of which from the first years of its founding was State Prize laureate Associate Professor Karlinskaya M.I., sent to Akmolinsk by the Academy of Public Utilities in Moscow.

The department's lecturers taught thirteen different disciplines. In addition to electrical engineering disciplines, the department was entrusted with teaching other courses that were in no way related to electrical engineering: statistics, computational and mathematical methods, technical mechanics, etc. Therefore, the period of formation of the department was difficult and protracted. It was necessary to create in a short time laboratories with modern equipment, stands, installations that were not produced in factories, and collect samples of industrial equipment. However, over time, all these difficulties were overcome. A lot of work in the formation of the department and the organization of its laboratory base was done by Yu. Z. Venediktov, Yu. V. Anisimov, S. I. Maletsky, A. A. Plichenko, E. A. Kulinsky.
