The Department of Philosophy

 

In 1958, the Department of Marxism-Leninism was organized at the Tselinograd Agricultural Institute, which provided the teaching of all social sciences and played an important role in the ideological support of the educational process. On the basis of this department, the Department of Political Economy was created in 1961, the Department of History of the CPSU in 1965, and the Department of Scientific Communism in 1974.

The Department of Philosophy began to function as an independent subdivision in 1975.

The first head of the department was candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Portnoi I.Ya., and the first teachers were candidates of historical sciences Sergeev I.S., Ivanov I.I., Iskakov Zh.I., candidate of economic sciences Li N.N.

Today, the Department of Philosophy is headed by Associate Professor, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Kakimzhanova Margarita Kabdulaevna.

The department trains undergraduate and graduate students of all specialties. Teaching is conducted in the state, English and Russian languages. There are 16 people wotking in the department, including 1 PhD doctors, 6 candidates of science and 7 masters of science.

Teachers of the Department cooperate with universities of St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. They have also completed an internship under the Bolashak program in London and the USA.

Professors of the Department try to educate socially active personality with a humanistic worldview, to formate high political consciousness and culture, to foster a sense of patriotism, developing elements of critical thinking, personal and professional culture among undergraduates and students.

The research activities of the department are aimed at solving both fundamental problems of the methodology of social and humanitarian knowledge and interdisciplinary scientific research, and applied issues of using social technologies in agro-technical education.

The goal of the scientific team of the Department is to integrate the latest social knowledge and technologies with various disciplines of the agro-technical cycle, as well as to simultaneously create and develop special scientific areas that shape the thinking of students, their creativity and social communication skills, allowing them to master modern approaches to improving efficiency and optimizing personal activities.

The department prepared 7 research projects for for the grant funding:

  1. "Future green technologies and their environmental safety in modern education of the Republic of Kazakhstan"

  2. "Development of indicators of the effectiveness of the provision of public services using the electronic government of Kazakhstan"

  3. "Institutional conditions, social risks and motivation for entrepreneurial activity in Kazakhstan and Belarus"

  4. "Search for the philosophical potential of the sacred space and analysis of its impact on the revival of the national code of Kazakh Eli"

  5. "Problems of integration of persons with disabilities into the educational process and possible ways to overcome them (case studies on the example of Astana and Akmola region, Kazakhstan)"

  6. "Social adaptation of foreign students of higher agricultural educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the educational environment"

  7. Value-semantic aspect of professional self-determination of university students: the influence of traditions and innovations.

Department history

The first head of the department was the candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Tailor and the first teachers - the candidate of historical sciences Sergeev I.S, Ivanov I.I, J.I Iskakov, Candidate of Economic Sciences N.N Lee.

1961 - Department of Political Economy

1965 - Department of History of the CPSU

1974 - Department of scientific communism.

The staff of the faculty consists of 22 people, including 1 Dr. PhD, 9 PhDs and 11 masters of the science.

The Department of Philosophy as an independent department has been functioning since 1975. At different times the chair was in charge of Candidates of Philosophy, Associate Professors S.M. Usenov, B.Zh. Zharkenov, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor V.I. Zorin, Doctor of Philosophy T.K. Burbaev, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor A.K. Abdina, Doctor of Philosophy Professor K.K. Begalinova, Candidate of Philosophy Kh.S. Abdildina for today the department is headed by Ph.D. E.E. Muhanbetkaliev.

International cooperation

Bolashak International Scholarship was established on November 5, 1993 by the Decree of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. A. Nazarbayev.

The purpose of the program is the staff training to the priority sectors of the nation economy. The program includes both a scientific degree of higher educational institutions and scientific and industrial internships in leading companies and universities around the world.

Teachers of the department A.K. Abdina, A.T. Turgaleeva, B.J. Tursynbayeva trained under the program Bolashak in London. Associate Professor Sheryazdanova G.R. trained under the program Bolashak in the United States.Doctor of Philosophy A.K. Abdina cooperates with the universities of St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.

Employees of the department had training courses: Doctor of Philosophy A.K. Abdina the Concord International academy (France), Ph.D. E.E. Muhanbetkaliev the Euro-Regional Economic University (Poland), S.K. Yeleussizova in Chonnam National University (South Korea, Kvandzhu) A.G. Gappasova the European Institute (Republic of Turkey, Istanbul) T.M. Sadykova the University Kozhaeli (Turkish Republic, Kozhaeli).

The department cooperates with the leading employees of the centers of higher educational institutions of the CIS. In particular, with the Economic Institute of Belarus, Reading University of England, the Euro-Regional Economic University of Poland.

In 2017 the department issued 1 monograph, more than 10 methodical instructions and recommendations. To clarify the annual Message of the President and the article "Looking to the Future: Modernizing Public Consciousness," more than 10 meetings were held among students and about 10 articles were published in the newspapers of the country, «Егемен Қазақстан», «Казахстанская правда», «Қазақ үні», «Қазақ әдебиеті», «Ана тілі».

Student life

Young people actively participate in events held by the philosophical clubs "Tanym", "Dostyk" and the scientific circle «Mangilik El».

The goal of the "Tanim" club is to develop critical thinking among students, which is the main tool in making alternative decisions, introducing new or modified ways of thinking and acting.

The goal of the Dostyk club is to strengthen patriotic feelings, acting as the most important, stable characteristic of a person, expressed in his worldview, moral ideals, norms of behavior, and to develop inter-ethnic and inter-confessional relations among students.

The purpose of the student scientific circle «Mangilik El»: to clarify and instill skills research methodology for students.

On November 14, 2017, a student city conference with the participation of the staff Astana City Administration, heads of ethno-cultural centers, teachers and students on the theme: "The potential of youth in the development of the Assembly Peoples of Kazakhstan" was held at the university. It was organized by the Department of Philosophy and the Assembly Peoples of Kazakhstan.

At the conference the participants spoke about the need to support active, purposeful actions to further advance the spiritual and moral transformation of the Kazakh society, its humanization and cultural development. 

In the course of the work, it is possible to single out the reports of some students who are members of the Dostyk, Tanym clubs, the first-year students of the Faculty of Land Management Diana Krebed and Bogdan Seitenov, who touched upon the issues of upbringing the patriotism of Kazakhstan's youth, the role of the Assembly Peoples of Kazakhstan in society.

At the same time, the participants were interested in the report of the second-year student Sh. Khairullaeva, who clearly defined the framework of tolerance and inter-confessional relations.

As a result, a resolution on the preservation of national identity was adopted.
