The Department of Physical Education

 

The Department of physical training was based in 1958. The first head of the department was V.E.Dyugayev. There were 5 people at the department. There were many people who headed the physical training department amng them V.S.Sergeyev, F.N.Shelkovoy, M.G.Mosiyenko, the candidate of pedagogical sciences,master of sports, F.T.Khvan, the honoured coach of Kazakh ASSR, since 1995 till now the head is A.S.Shkurkov, associate professor. The teachers of the department are highly-qualified and the way of training is provided with the best teaching methods. There were a lot of experienced teachers (E.F.Petrov, A.A.Shmidt, N.S.Sheina, V.P.Gantanov, L.E.Kosulina, L.N.Sherbakova, A.B.Zakirova, etc) who had brought a great contribution to the formation and development of the scientific and educational potential of the department.

Academic studies were at sports hall of Agronomy faculty. There also were training teams in basketball, volleyball, weightlifting and Greco-Roman wrestling. In 1966 a new sports hall was put at zootechnical faculty. With the completion of the main building in 1976, the department had at its disposal a special sports block with a large game room with total area of 648 sq.m.. The students and teachers took an active part in constructing and designing of the sports block.
From 1963 to 1983 there was a sports student camp in a picturesque location on the River Nura. At the camp, students of a special medical group were sent and student-athletes spent their time during the summer vacation.
In 2006 a new sports center and the stadium "Saryarka" were built and reconstructed and due to that fact there were given great opportunities for athletes’ formation who could achieve high results.
Nowadays, the discipline "Physical training" is taught by the highly-qualified teachers of the department.
There are 17 teachers: 2 associate professor, 10 senior teachers, 5 assistants.
In order to improve the level of teaching in the department it is organized inter-exchange classes, working seminars on current issues in physical education. The teachers go to the competition in the different regions of Kazakhstan, CIS and other countries, where they have the opportunity to share teaching experience. At the department a lot of attention is paid to the training teams and high-class athletes who are able to show good results in competitions at various levels.


 


 



Department history

Department of Physical Education was established in 1958. The first head of the department was an experienced teacher Dugaev V.I.Personnel consisted of five people. In previous years the department was under the charge of: Sergeev V.S., Candidate of pedagogic sciences, Shelkovoy F.N.,Candidate of pedagogic sciences, Mosiyenko M.G., Master of Sports of the USSR, Candidate of pedagogic sciences, Hwang F.T., honored coach of the Kazakh SSR. Since 1995 Shkurkov A.S., honored coach of Kazakhstan, honored worker of physical training and sports, Associate Professor has been the head of the Department.

During the first years disciplineswere delivered in the gym of the Agronomic faculty. Also varsity teams of basketball, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestlingtrained there. In 1966 Zoo-engineering faculty gym came into service. When the construction of the Main building was completed, the Department obtained a Sports hall with total area of 648 sq. m., with changing rooms, showers and other premises. Teachers and students of the University took an active part in the construction and equipping of gyms

From 1963 to 1982 year University had a sports and wellness student camp, located in a picturesque place on the Bank of the Nura River. During summer exam session and vacations special medical team students and student-athletes were sent to that camp to improve health and enhance sports skills. When in 2006 a new sporting complex at the stadium “Saryarka” was put in use, new opportunities of training high-class sportsmen, capable to show good results in competitions fat various levels, were brought into life.

A great contribution to the development of scientific and educational potential of the department was made by the following experienced teachers as Petrov I.F., honored coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Gagauz V.V., Associate Professor; Schmidt A.A., Shane N.S., Gantanov V.P., Kosulina L.I., Shcherbakova L.N., Kuznetsov V.G., Matviyevskaya L.E., Yeremin A.M., Zakirov A.B., Abdahin S.N., honored coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1983, the head of the department Mosiyenko M.G. defended a PhD thesis on the topic “The use of the means of physical training to improve productivity of agricultural mechanics”.

Currently, there are 17 teachers working at the Department: 2 Candidates of Pedagogical Sciences, 2 Associate Professors, 1 Master of Pedagogical Sciences, 10 Senior lecturers, and 4 assistants.

Today one of the strategic directions in the activity of the Department is the research work as an integral part of the learning process and the most important condition for improving the quality of education.Research and innovation activities of the department include such areas as characteristics of physical education and sports training, improving and adaptive physical training; development of methods and computer programs for the management of physical training lessons and of sport among the students. All the teachers of the Department are involved in the development of scientific work on the subject “Scientific and methodological fundamentals of teaching physical education at the University”. At the same time, the Department pays great attention to research work of students, which is an integral part and an entire system of training specialists capable to find creative solutions for problems facing them in various industries and spheres of activities.

The result of research work of the Department is the annual participation of the staff in the work of national and international scientific and practical conferences which are held in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

So as to improve the pedagogical level, there was organized a reciprocal visiting of classesat the Department, there is also a methodical seminar on current issues in the field of physical training and sports. Instructors go to competitions to various regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad where they have the opportunity to share pedagogical experiences.

The Department and Sports Club do much in organizing sports and recreational events to promote a healthy way of life in order to bring the students of the University to systematic training.There were also organized sports clubs in 18 sports, where almost 400 student-athletes improve their sport skills. The most popular sports are basketball, volleyball, Kazakh wrestling (wrestling with original Kazakh features), weight-lifting, arm wrestling and others.

The Department and Sports Club held sport competitions annually among first-year students, faculties, teachers and University staff. More than a thousand people participate in the competitions.

The past years teachers of the department and the sports club coaches have trained 3 honored masters of sports, 15 international masters of sports, including Yeleusinov Daniyar (boxing) HMS,  Akshalov Merey (boxing) HMS, Asainov Marat (arm wrestling) HMS, Suleimenov Ilyas (boxing) IMS, Kozhabekov Ilyas (boxing) IMS, Abdahin Serik (weight-lifting) IMS, Velichko Alex (weight-lifting) IMS, Gilmutdinov Renat (weight-lifting) IMS, Ashimov Adilbek (weight-lifting) IMS, Oskanov Eskarhan (belt wrestling) IMS, Zekenov Alibek (belt wrestling) IMS, Kulmanbetov Aidos (belt wrestling) IMS, Kozhabayev Talgat (sambo wrestling) IMS, Israilova Karlygash (arm wrestling) IMS, Lenkov Nikolai (arm wrestling) IMS, Umansky Denis (arm wrestling) IMS, Tabarina Anastasiya (arm wrestling) IMS, Denis Vassiliev (arm wrestling) IMS; and more than 60 masters of sport.

Men’s basketball team from 2004 to 2010 and women’s basketball team from 2006 to 2010 were becoming winners and prize takers of the championships of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Student life

Students of our university have achieved the following results in high-level tournaments:

3rd year student of the Land Management Faculty Sayatov Nurtas won the bronze medal of the Asian Championship in belt wrestling in the 62 kg weight category (Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, June 25-30, 2016)

2nd year student of the Technical Faculty Dyusembayev Amangeldy won the gold medal of the European Championship in mini-football among amateur teams as part of the national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan. (Szekesfehervar, Hungary, 21-27 August 2016)

The student of 1 course of the faculty of agronomy of Satbayev Didar won the gold medal at the II World nomad games in wrestling in the weight category of 60 kg (G. Cholpan ATA, Kyrgyzstan, September 3-8, 2016)

The student of 1 course of the faculty of agronomy of Satbayev Didar won a bronze medal on the 14 World championship wrestling in the weight category up to 62 kg (Naberezhnye Chelny, Russia, 27-30 October, 2016)

3rd year student of the Faculty of Agronomy Muratkhan Berikbol won a bronze medal at the 3rd World Championship in guresh wrestling in the 57 kg weight category (Naberezhnye Chelny, Russia, October 27-30, 2016)

The student 3 courses technical faculty Mamilov Islam won the gold medal at the International tournament in Brazilian JIU-jitsu in the weight category of 70 kg (Almaty, October 22, 2016)

Student 4 courses technical faculty Callahan Alibek won the silver medal in the Asian championship in arm wrestling among young people in the weight category up to 80 kg. (G. Cholpan ATA, Kyrgyzstan, June 5-11, 2017)

4th year student of the faculty of Viti ADI Abylaikhan won a bronze medal in the Asian championship in arm wrestling among adults in the 90 kg weight category (g Cholpan ATA, Kyrgyzstan, June 5-11, 2017)

From July 22 to 24, 2017, the xvth World Championship in Belt Wrestling, dedicated to the International Exhibition "EXPO-2017", was held in the sports complex "Daulet"in Astana. In the world championship, which was attended by participants from 22 countries, our student-athletes achieved high achievements. Satbayev Didar, a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Agronomy, won a gold medal in the 57 kg freestyle weight category and was awarded the title of World Champion and "Master of Sports of International class". A 4th-year student of the same faculty, Muratkhan Berikbol, was also awarded a gold medal and the title of "Master of Sports of International class" in the weight category of 57 kg in the classical style. In the weight category of 90 kg, the 4th year student of the Faculty of Agronomy Shaimerden Birzhan won a silver award and the title of "Master of Sports of international class". In the 75 kg weight category, Toleukhan Akzhol, a 2nd-year student of the Technical Faculty, won a bronze medal and the title of "Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan". In addition, our graduate students, who were engaged in wrestling along with their studies at the university, also achieved high results at this championship. Aydos Kulmanbetov, a graduate of the Technical Faculty in 2016, won a gold medal in the 90 kg weight category. Oskanov Eskarkhan, a graduate of the same faculty in 2013, won a silver medal in the 100 kg weight category. For this championship, our children were prepared by the coach of the sports club Satbayev Erlan Kabdullovich and the teacher of the Department of Physical Education Satbayev Dulat Kabdullaevich. Erlan Kabdullovich Satbayev was awarded the title of "Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

1st year master's student Shahban Erlan took 2nd place in the weight category of 54 kg and was awarded the title of "Master of Sports of International class" at the World Kickboxing Championship in Budapest (Hungary) on October 2-11, 2017. Erlan also took 3rd place in the World Cup on June 14-18 in Rimini (Italy).

1st year student of the Technical Faculty Zhanibek Temirlan won a gold medal in the 65 kg weight category at the Kyokushin Karate World Championship on January 26-27, 2018 in Odessa (Ukraine).

The following athletes in belt wrestling achieved high awards in the 3rd World Nomad Games, which were held in the city of Cholpan Ata (Kyrgyzstan) on September 3-7, 2018: 1st-year student of the faculty of Department of Computer Systems and Vocational Training Dyusembayeva Ulzhan won a bronze medal in the 60 kg weight category; 1st-year master's student of the specialty agronomy Muratkhan Berikbol won a bronze medal in the 65 kg weight category.

Satbayev Didar, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Agronomy, won a silver medal in the 57 kg weight category at the World Belt Wrestling Championship, which was held in Kazan (Russia) on November 25-27, 2018.

1st year student of the faculty of Department of Computer Systems and Vocational Training Dyusembayeva Ulzhan won a gold medal and became the World Champion in the 66 kg weight category at the Youth World Championship in Belt wrestling, which was held on December 19-21, 2018 in Astana.

2nd year student of the faculty of Department of Computer Systems and Vocational Training Dyusembayeva Ulzhan won a gold medal in the 66 kg weight category at the World War Games in Belt Wrestling, which was held on September 3-5, 2019 in the South Korean city of Chun-Jo.

Satbayev Didar, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Agronomy, won a silver medal at the World Belt Wrestling Championship, which was held on November 1-2, 2019 in the Russian city of Kazan.

Abenova Tolganay, a 1st-year student of the Faculty of Economics, won a bronze medal in the 60 kg weight category at the Kazakh Kuresi World Championship, which was held on December 20-21, 2019 in Nur-Sultan.

Shaimerden Birzhan, a 2nd-year master's student of the Faculty of Agronomy, won the gold medal of the 3rd World Championship in Iranian Wrestling, which was held on January 19-20, 2020 in the capital of Iran, Tehran.
