S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University is department one of the first in the Republic of Kazakhstan, since 1999 began training in the field of standardization, metrology and certification. As an independent structural unit Standardization, metrology and certification department was established in 2004.
The main activities of the department are research and teaching disciplines in the areas of standardization, certification and quality management.
The department trains in the field of 5В073200 – «Standardization and Certification», 6M073200 – «Standardization and Certification», 6D073200 - «Standardization and certification».
The department employs 26 teachers, including 3 doctors of science, 11 candidates. Teachers of the department A.T. Kanayev, D.B. Kurmangaliyeva, B.T. Zhusin.

They are members of the Scientific and Methodological Council of RSE «Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Certification». In 2015, Prof. A.T. Kanayev was awarded the title of «The best teacher of the university of the Republic of Kazakhstan».
3 teachers were training abroad during the last three years.
Total teaching staff of the department conducts 21 courses for students on specialty 5B073200 «Standardization and Certification», 7 disciplines for the specialty 6M073200 «Standardization and Certification» and 4 disciplines to other professions.
Since 2015 trilingual education was started on the specialty 6M073200 - «Standardization and Certification».
The department has three modern educational laboratories «Definition of quality agricultural products», «Performance Measurement» and «Occupational Safety».

As part of the grant funding for 2015 - 2017, the department conducts research on the project «Development of innovative technologies and equipment for production of new thermomechanical materials, the country demanded the construction industry». Project manager is Prof. A.T. Kanayev.
The department cooperates with the Belarusian National Technical University (Belarus, Minsk), Agricultural University. Hugo Kollontay (Poland, Krakow), the Eurasian Academy (Slovakia, Bratislava), the Ufa State Aviation Technical University (Bashkortostan, Ufa) and other organizations.

Department cooperates with the Committee for Standardization and Metrology of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, RSE «Kazakhstan Standards Institute», RSE «Kazakhstan Institute of Metrology», «National expertise and certification center», E.A. Buketov Karaganda Technical University and others.
Bases of practice for students in the disciplines of the department are 10 enterprises and organizations. On 2 disciplines organized dual training. Effective branch of the department on the basis of RSE «Kazakhstan Institute of Metrology», which carried out practical training on discipline «Metrological provision of production».

According to the State center on payment of pensions, employment bachelor graduates in 2015 was 80%, master's graduates - 100%. Our graduates work in the «Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology», «National Center of Accreditation», «Kazakhstan Institute of Metrology», «Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization», «Kazakh Research Institute of processing of agricultural products» and other organizations.
The department is headed by doctor PhD Aldabergenova Saule Salimzhanovna.
The history of the specialty as an independent, was held a certain way:
1997 - Department of production, technology processing and standardization of products.
2001 - Department of Standardization and merchandising.
2002 - Department of Standardization and quality of agricultural products.
The «Standardization, metrology and certification» department was organized on the basis of the recommendation of the Academic council of university the order of the rector № 134 from 6.16.2004. The department is managed charge of candidate of technical sciences, associate professor B.T. Zhusin
The department of «Standardization, metrology and certification» is organized for the purpose of carrying out studies on disciplines of a specialty 5В073200 - «Standardization and Certification», and also special disciplines of technical, agronomy, energy, veterinary and livestock production, and computer systems faculties. Since its establishment to the present time the department has been graduating research and educational unit of the Technical faculty.
Since 2008 the department «Standardization, metrology and certification» has graduated at the declared specialty.
The educational work of the department is carried out in accordance with the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan series AB № 0062189 from 02.08.2008 (valid for unlimited).
Bachelor of engineering and technology in specialty 5В073200 «Standardization and Certification» is carried out since 2009 (AB №0062189 license application №0110659 from 02.07.2008).
The department has graduated 436 experts - auditors and engineers - experts, on specialties 1601 and 4517 «Standardization and certification of agricultural production» in 2005-2007, since 2007 - 412 bachelors.
During the period of 2013-2015 the department prepared 509 bachelors.
In the 2014-2015 academic year was the last release of students enrolled in distance learning. In 2010 specialty 6M073200 «Standardization and Certification» has passed state certification for 5 years.
In 2014 specialty 6M073200 «Standardization and Certification» has passed specialized accreditation for 5 years. Certificate № AВ081 from 05.21.2014, issued before 5.3.2019.
In August 2015 the license for the right to training of doctors PhD on a specialty 6D073200 - «Standardization and certification».

The dynamics of the development of educational programs of the department
The educational programs of the department were entered and approved in the register of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2019. In 2022, educational programs of all 3 levels were updated taking into account changes in the labor market and employers' requests, learning outcomes were changed and supplemented, and the graduate model was adjusted. In 2023, due to changes in the SES, the undergraduate and graduate programs were also updated in terms of changing the final certification, as well as adjusting the content of some disciplines of educational programs. The Catalog of elective disciplines is updated and updated annually in order to ensure freedom of choice for students.
The Department has 4 Treaty on cooperation with organizations from Belarus, Poland, Slovakia and Russia.
Within the framework of academic mobility of students on a specialty «Standardization and Certification» department cooperates with Belarusian National Technical University (Republic of Belarus, Minsk), Agricultural University. Hugo Kollontay were added (Poland, Krakow), Eurasian Academy (Slovakia, Bratislava), Ufa State Aviation Technical University (Bashkortostan, UFA).
At the Department for students of a specialty 5B073200 – «Standardization and Certification» have lectures Professor of Polish University Engineering and energy of Krakow, Barbara Kzhishtofik, professor of Belarusian State Agro - Technical University crop N.K. Talochko and professor of the Lviv Polytechnic National University of Ukraine T.Boyko.
Employees of the Department were refresher courses at the Slovak Agricultural University (Slovakia, Nitra), Amsterdam Science Center DNW (Netherlands).
For lecturing to undergraduates, the Department is continuously engaging with the production managers and specialists with practical experience in the field of standardization, certification and quality management.
Graduate employment rate 5В073200 «Standardization and Certification» is 80% today. Graduates of specialty 6M073200 - «Standardization and Certification» is 100%.
The students of specialty «Standardization and Certification», together with the lectures take an active part in all events held at the faculty and the university (public holidays, sporting events, month on crime prevention, drug addiction and religious extremism).
For students organized a meeting with the heads and specialists of relevant organizations with an invitation to give lectures and excursions.
The Students department are to debate club «Elite», and sports clubs organized by the university.
As part of the socio-political , patriotic and legal education held curatorial hours devoted to the Kazakhstan national holidays , the conversation on the topic of discussion of the Annual message of the President, Strategy «Kazakhstan - 2050».
Youth actively participates in conferences and round tables held by the Committee of Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
