The Department of Transport Engineering and Technology was created in 2015 on the basis of the Department of Technical Service.

The Department of Technical Service was formed in 2000 by merging the Department of Tractors and Automobiles and the Department of Operation of Agricultural Equipment, which were formed during the formation of the faculty in 1961 and 1962.

The founder of the department is Ivan Pavlovich Vorozhtsov, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, who, before moving to the Central Agricultural Institute, headed the department of EMTP at the Novosibirsk Agricultural Institute in Novosibirsk.

The Department of Transport Engineering and Technology is working to expand international cooperation with higher educational institutions of the near and far abroad, such as the Siberian State Automobile and Highway University (SibADI), Ostrava Technical University (Czech Republic),

During the period from November 25 to December 7, 2018, the department was visited by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Dimitar Karaivanov from the Sofia Chemical, Technological and Metallurgical University of Science and Technology (Bulgaria) and gave lectures and conducted practical classes for bachelors of educational programs: “Transport, transport technology and technologies”, “Logistics in transport” and “Organization and road safety”, conducted consultations for master’s and doctoral students of the educational programs “Transport, transport equipment and technology”.

In order to implement academic mobility of bachelors and master's students within the framework of the Memorandum of mutual cooperation in the provision of educational services within the framework of academic mobility programs between the NJSC "Kazakh Agrotechnical University named after Saken Seifullin" and the Buryat State Agricultural Academy named after V.R. Filippova (Russia) 3rd year bachelors of the educational program 6B065 - “Transport, transport equipment and technologies” are trained using distance learning technologies in the autumn trimester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

In the period from October to December 2023, the department was visited by Michal Bembenek, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Production Systems, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (Poland), who gave lectures and conducted seminars on educational programs: for bachelors, masters and doctoral students.
For many years, the department has been closely cooperating with the Chelyabinsk State Agricultural Engineering University, where the vast majority of the department’s teachers received postgraduate training. Applicants regularly attend conferences with presentations on scientific research topics.

Cooperation has been established with the CLAAS company in Harsewinkel, Germany, and an agreement has been concluded on joint work on the study of agricultural machines by university students and FPK students. At the expense of the company, a classroom for the study of foreign technology is equipped and supplied with educational and methodological literature. About 10 graduates of the faculty work at this company, and a graduate of 1989, Butov S.V. is one of the leading managers of the CLAAS Academy.

Agreements on creative cooperation and book exchange were concluded with the St. Petersburg State Agrarian University and the Dnepropetrovsk State Agrarian University. Head of the department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Kostyuchenkov N.V. completed an internship at the St. Petersburg State Agrarian University (2005), and Ph.D., Associate Professor Yakovenko I.F. completed an internship at CLAAS, Harsewinkel, Germany (2005).

Educational work at the department of “Transport Engineering and Technology” is the most important component of educational activities, carried out in accordance with the “Collection of regulations and regulatory documents on the organization and conduct of educational work at the Kazakh State Agrotechnical University named after. S. Seifullin" and includes the following areas: organizational, work with curators on the organization of legal, patriotic, moral, aesthetic and physical education of student youth.
Educational work at the department is carried out by teachers and curators in 11 groups from 1st to 4th year in the specialties: 5B090100 - “Organization of transportation, traffic and operation of transport” and 5B01300 - “Transport, transport equipment and technology.” In order to organize educational work, at the beginning of each academic year, plans for educational work (departmental, individual, curatorial) are developed and approved. During the academic year, work is systematically carried out on legal education and crime prevention among students. The curators of the groups conduct curatorial hours weekly in accordance with the schedule and the “calendar plan of curatorial hours.”
Group curators, together with public organizations, through students, organize social and cultural life in the group, contributing to the formation of a friendly, cohesive team in it with the aim of training highly qualified and comprehensively developed specialists with higher education and shaping their active life position.

On September 1, 2019, on Knowledge Day, the curator of groups 065-19-14 and 065-19-28 in the specialty “Motor Vehicles” O.N. Kostyuchenkova gave a presentation about the history of the university and introduced the buildings.

Baidalina G.E. familiarized students with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and their actions. At the meeting it was noted how filming began, how everything happened, how the casting took place. The filmmaking team thanked Varol Yasin and immediately said that they had passed the audition. On November 24, 2023, a meeting was held with the director of the Astana Passenger Transportation Center, a graduate of the technical faculty B. Ertaev, who is currently retiring. The meeting was attended by 4th year students of OP 6B07106 - “Transport, transport equipment and technologies” of the Technical Faculty. B. Ertaev told the youth in detail how his career began and what position he held. In addition, the graduate noted that graduates have the opportunity to get a job in their specialty and that the future of our country is in the hands of young people. On November 20, 2023, with group 06-065-23-11 of the first year of OP 6B07106 - “Transport, transport equipment and technologies” of the technical faculty and the curator of the group A. Sarsenkyzy, the head of the Compliance service of our university Tokushev K. A. held a meeting on the topic “Honesty , integrity and anti-corruption."
At the meeting, K. A. Tokushev gave students a general explanation that corruption in the country currently continues, and also spoke about the measures being taken to combat corruption in the country. He also noted about the customs of our nation. Explaining that the future of the country is in the hands of young people, that now is the time to master real knowledge and science, including in-depth study of foreign languages and exchange of knowledge with foreign countries.
During the meeting, Tokushev K.A. exchanged opinions between the students, and a good dialogue of questions and answers took place. The youth's anti-corruption thoughts and goals for the future were heard.

On October 2, 2023, students of group 06-065-23-11 OP – 6B07106 held a meeting with university psychologist Aruzhan Darkhanovna. On September 8, 2023, a consultation was held with students of groups 06-076-21-10, 06-065-20-12, 06-065-20-14 of the Technical Faculty, a meeting was held with the participation of consultants from the political work department of the city branch of the AMANAT party Astana Abdigani Bazilkhanuly, branch of the AMANAT party of the Saryarkinsky district Gulaina Zeynelkyzy, member of the board - vice-rector for student affairs Kusainov Zh.A. and Talgat Zekenuly. The Olympiad is held within the framework of republican student olympiads in order to identify the development of special professional abilities of future specialists and is one of the factors supporting talented student youth, as well as for forming a team to participate in republican and international olympiads.

The main goals and objectives of the Olympiad are:

1) stimulation of educational-cognitive and educational-research activities of students;

2) revealing the professional and personal potential of students, their self-awareness, creative abilities, creating conditions for self-realization and self-affirmation;

3) education of the civic position of students;

4) selection and support of the most talented and gifted students;

5) formation of an active professional attitude towards improving the education system

The procedure for holding the Republican Olympiad.

The Republican Olympiad is held in 2 stages:

1) the first stage is intra-university;

2) the second stage - in basic universities;

Students of higher educational institutions in priority areas of training and specialties of higher education can take part in the first stage of the Olympiad.

The rector (vice-rector) of the university organizes competition commissions for the relevant sections of the competition, including representatives of leading scientific organizations, industrial enterprises, and local authorities.

Based on the results of the I stage of the Olympiad (intra-university), the university competition commission, approved by order of the rector, on a competitive basis selects and sends the best university students to base universities to participate in the II stage of the competition.

When nominating students to participate in the II stage of the Olympiad, the higher education institution sends the following documents to the base university:

- a letter signed by the rector (vice-rector) about the results of the first stage of the Olympiad or a decision of the Academic Council of the university, which is documented in a protocol.

The timing of stage I (intra-university) is determined by order of the university rector from October 1 to January 1, stage II (in basic universities) from January 1 to April 1 of the current year.

The competition commission of the base university recommends awarding winners in the following order:

for 1st place - a 1st degree diploma from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (no more than one student);

for 2nd place - diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, II degree (no more than two students);

for 3rd place - diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the 3rd degree (no more than three students).

The decision of the republican commission to determine the winners of the second stage of the Olympiad is documented in the appropriate protocol, signed by all its members.

The next Olympiad in a specialty is held at the university whose student took first place in the relevant specialty.

Financing of the competition.

The financing of the first stage of the competition is provided by the relevant higher education institutions.

The costs of the second stage of the competition are borne by basic universities, the list of which is approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
