The Department of Veterinary Medicine

 

Specialty Veterinary medicine specialists are trained since 1972 in Russian and since 1991 in the official language of full-time training on the basis of the general - secondary education. Course duration 5 years.

The Department is issuing specialty in the field 6В09101 - "Veterinary Safety" graduate 7M09101 - "Diagnosis, treatment and prevention of animal diseases", PhD 8D09101 - «Veterinary Welfare of animals». The first graduates was carried out in 1977.

The organizer and founder of the department is a member of the Great Patriotic War, Doctor of Veterinary Science, Professor Kadyrov N.T.

A significant contribution to the establishment and further development of the department made a doctor of veterinary sciences, Professor Dmitriev A.F., Professor V.M. Subbotin Medicine, candidate of veterinary sciences, associate Shakhmanov B.S., Pashentsev V.A.        

Currently the department has 28 professors, 2 doctors of science, 15 of them are associate professors, 3 doctor of PhD. 8 associate professors, 1 associate professor, 7 senior teachers; 3 PhD doctors – senior teachers; 6 assistants - 6 Masters of Veterinary Sciences and 1 assistant without a degree.

The department has 5 owners of the state grant "The best teacher of the university": in 2008 - Terlikbaev A.A., 2010 – Abdrakhmanov T.Zh., Dzhakupov I.T., Baykadamova G.A. and 2013 - Leader L.A., 2018 – associate professors, docents Muhanbetkaliyev E.E., Usenbayev A. E., 2021 – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor I.T. Dzhakupov.

In 2018, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor Abdrakhmanov T.Zh. was awarded the badge "Excellence in Agriculture".

In 2019, the award "Best Candidate of Sciences - 2019" was awarded to Ph.D. Zhanabaev A.A., Ph.D. Associate Professor Usenbaev A.E., Ph.D., Associate Professor Bisengaliev R.M.

Total teaching staff of the department conducted 16 courses for students of specialties 6В09101 - "Veterinary Safety», 13 disciplines for the specialty 7M09101 - "Diagnosis, treatment and prevention of animal diseases" and 5 disciplines for the specialty 8D09101 - «Veterinary Welfare of animals». Since 2015 started trilingual education in the specialty 7M09101 - "Diagnosis, treatment and prevention of animal diseases" and 8D09101 - «Veterinary Welfare of animals».

Three teachers of the department teach in bachelor degree in English and a master's degree and a doctorate, respectively, 1 teachers in English.Teaching staff of the department conducts educational, methodical, scientific and educational work. 

According to the department used a variety of methods of innovative technologies:

  • The discipline of "Veterinary surgery" assistant professor Kamsaev K.M. and senior lecturer Domanov D.I. at training students 4 courses in semester 7 6В09101 - "Veterinary Safety», based on the LLP Dog Training Center "Zoosphere" uses innovative methods of treatment of surgical diseases of dogs and cats;
  • on discipline " Veterinary obstetrics and gynecology " Doctor of Veterinary , professors Abdrakhmanov T.Zh. and Dzhakupova I.T. in teaching students 5 courses of specialty in the conditions of AF "Rodina" are used new methods of diagnosis and treatment of postpartum cows disease;
  • The discipline "Parasitology and parasitic diseases" Doctor of Veterinary , assistant professor Ibrayev B.K. - New methods of diagnosis , treatment and prevention of parasitic diseases of ruminants , using the latest achievements of veterinary science
  • The discipline "Internal diseases of animals with clinical diagnosis" assistant professor Terlikpaev A.A. during lessons using new methods of hematological studies the blood of animals, with the students 4 courses;
  • The discipline "Epizootology and infectious diseases" assistant professor Baikadamova G.A. and senior lecturer Muhanbetkaliev E.E. in the educational process for students of the 5th year specialty used to lectures 5-7 minute educational films on topics and accompanied with the use of a multimedia technology. During the practical exercises solve crosswords, puzzles and games are held business based on innovative technologies;
  • The department the following disciplines are conducted : "Internal non-communicable diseases ", "Clinical Diagnosis", "Obstetrics , gynecology and biotechnology of reproduction", "Operative Surgery", "Total and private surgery", "Hygiene and sanitation reproduction", "Epizootology and infectious disease", "Parasitology and parasitic diseases", "primary veterinary care", "Basics of veterinary" , "Diseases of animals and birds" that are taught in 4 specialties .

In the educational process, the following are used as a material base: the clinic of the faculty, the museums of the department, the material and technical base of the Joint Kazakh-Chinese laboratory for biological safety, agricultural and laboratory animals, a biochemical analyzer, a hematological analyzer, a urine analyzer, a sperm analyzer, interactive stands for artificial insemination , for surgical, obstetric and gynecological diseases.

In order to improve the quality of classes in the disciplines of the department and the passage of all types of practices, 65 cooperation agreements were concluded: with regional and district veterinary services of all regions and districts, AiyrtauAGRO LLP, AtamekenAGRO JSC, ZhanaBereke LLP ZhSh, veterinary clinics Nur-Sultan Zoosphere, Aqtaban, Astana.

       

The educational process is provided with the necessary materials (reagents, instruments, laboratory glassware) products and animal and vegetable raw materials.  

The department is headed by candidate of veterinary sciences, associate professor Mukhanbetkaliev E.E.



Department history

Department of Veterinary Medicine held in 2001 when the two departments “non-communicable diseases" and «infectious diseases". 

Department of "non-communicable diseases" was organized in 1997 and directed it associate professor Abdrakhmanov T.Zh. Its membership includes the following disciplines: Internal non-communicable diseases, clinical diagnostics, obstetrics, surgery (operational, general, private), biotechnology, veterinary radiobiology.           

The department "communicable disease" was founded in 1997 and directed it Senior Lecturer Ibraev B.K. (1997-2001) . The department "communicable diseases" was formed as a result of the reorganization of the department "epizootology and parasitology", which he founded and for 13 years was in charge from 1976 to 1989, Doctor of Veterinary Science, Professor Kadyrov N.T.           

In his time at the department worked such outstanding scientists, Professor Kadyrov N.T., Matusevich V.F., Subbotin V.M., Labunskiy B.M., Docents Shakhmanov B.S., Mingilev V.P., Associate Professor Poyarkov V.N., associate professor Tanraev A.D., Rodionov V.G. and etc.
Since 2001, the staff of the department includes the following disciplines: "Internal non-communicable diseases" , "Clinical Diagnosis" , "Obstetrics , gynecology and biotechnology of reproduction", "Operative Surgery", "Total and private surgery", "Hygiene and sanitation reproduction", "Epizootology and infectious diseases", "Parasitology and parasitic diseases", "Primary veterinary care", "Fundamentals of veterinary Medicine", "Disease of animals and birds" that are taught in 7 specialties. The head of the department was associate professor Abdrakhmanov T.Zh., which in December 2002 was appointed dean of the faculty. From January 2002 to 2012 he headed the Dzhakupov I.T. From 2012 to the present day head of the department - Doctor of Veterinary, professor Abdrakhmanov T.Zh.  

Since September 2020, the department is headed by Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor Mukhanbetkaliev Ersyn Ergazyevich.

 

The purpose of the organization of the department is to implement educational programs on the three-level training 6В09101 - «Veterinary Safety», 7M090101- «Diagnosis treatment  and prevention  of animal diseases» and 8D090101 - «Veterinary welfare of animals» , as well as training sessions on special subjects "Food safety", "Technology of production and processing animal products" of the Faculty of veterinary and livestock technology . 

To date, in accordance with the license KZ18LAA00017628, dated January 9, 2020, the order KKSON MES RK №3 from 08.01.2020 Without limitation, the Department graduates specialists: bachelor on a specialty " 6B09101 – «Veterinary Safety " in the state and Russian language full-time education on the basis of general and secondary education , training term - 5 years, Master "7M09101 - «Diagnosis treatment  and prevention  of animal diseases» in two directions of scientific - pedagogical and profile, as well as the doctorate "8D09101 – «Veterinary welfare of animals».

Training of masters at the university on a specialty 6M09101 - «Diagnosis treatment  and prevention  of animal diseases» is carried out since 2004 . Educational activities are carried out under license series KZ18LAA00017628, 09.01.2020 was issued, and an application for a license №20, issued by 08.01.2020. According to the order №3 from 08.01.2020 MES RK. Validity of the license - without restrictions.

Preparation of doctoral students at the university on a specialty "8D09101 - «Veterinary welfare of animals» carried out since 2011. Educational activities are carried out on the basis of a series of KZ18LAA00017628 license issued 09.01.2020 and the application of a license №021, issued 08.01.2020. According to the order of MES RK №3 from 08.01.2020. Validity of the license - without restrictions.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, a contingent of students is 617 students, of which 429 are taught in the national language, which is 69,5 %.517 students are enrolled on government educational grants and 73 on a fee - contract basis. With students studying on a fee - based contract concluded bilateral and trilateral agreement.

In 2019, the specialty 7M09101 - «Diagnosis treatment  and prevention  of animal diseases» passed the state certification, and in december 2019 passed the specialized accreditation IAAR what was issued a certificate (from 20.12.2019, №АВ2846 registration number).

In 2019, specialty 8D09101 - «Veterinary welfare of animals» was accredited in the framework of the specialized accreditation IAAR what has been issued a certificate (from 20.12.2019, registration number №АВ2847). In recent years, research conducted at the Department of Budget - funded projects under the MES RK.

Active participation in the implementation of the following instructors perform these projects: Abdrakhmanov T.Zh, Dzhakupov I.T., Terlikbaev A.A., Muhanbetkaliev E.E., Domanov D.I. 

The department developed annual and long-term plans of research, covering a wide range of issues relevant to the region and the republic: in particular the diagnosis and treatment and prevention of infectious, non-contagious and obstetric pathology in animals.     The department is being actively inventive activity. So, professor Abdrakhmanov T.Zh. in recent years, it received 5 security documents, Dzhakupova I.T., Ibrayev B.K., Eszhanova G.T., Muhanbetkaliev E.E. - 2 patents for inventions.

Student life

During the form-classes, teachers organize subject discussions on memorable dates (Constitution Day, Nauryz, etc.), as well as on topical issues of education and development of future specialists. Much attention is paid to the cultural and creative development of students. Curators and students attend exhibitions, theaters and other culture centers of the city regularly.Students of the Department take an active part in city and republican events, participate in city and republican events, in sports competitions held at the University and at the city level.

The best student works are submitted to University and national competitions of scientific works. According to the results of these competitions, many students who won prizes were encouraged with diplomas and valuable gifts.

In 2020, at the Republican subject Olympiad, held in KazNAU, 5th course student E. Kurmangaliyev took third place, Zh. Zhangazakkyzy – third place supervised by D. Rahimzhanova, candidate of veterinary sciences, docent.

According to the rating of the National accreditation center of the Ministry of education and science of Kazakhstan, in 2015, the specialty was awarded 2nd place among the Universities training the specialty “Veterinary medicine”. In 2014, according to the center of the Bologna process and academic mobility, 6B09101 –“Veterinary safety” specialty took the second place among higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan. 

Students of the department take an active part in municipal and republican events, participate in municipal and republican parades, in sports competitions held at the university and at the municipal level.The best student works participate in university and republican competitions of the best works. According to the results of these competitions, many students who won prizes are awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts.

In 2019, A. Nurkenov, M.Kadyrov, B. Demizak4th year students and 5th year students D.Alseitov, S.Satanova, J.Student specialties in Veterinary Medicine entered the top 50 of the best young scientists and the Best Student of 2019”.

Students are actively engaged in scientific activities, supervised by leading teachers of the department. In 2019, 3dyear students M.Orazbek, A.Nurkenov, together with associate professors of the department G.T.Eszhanova, D.T. Rakhimzhanova attended the 5th international congress of pharmacologists and toxicologists in St. Petersburg.In the same year, undergraduates G. Uteshev and G. Serikkanyzy took 1st place in the Start-Up summer school of science in Almaty.
